It’s such an easy thing to go to the local farmer’s market or grocery store to purchase a beautiful boutique of flowers. And we probably don’t think too much about the work that went into growing them. At The Urban Edge Farm, you not only get to see flowers as they move along their growth journey, but you can pick your own colorful hues, providing a greater sense of ownership and appreciation for the beauty they bring to your life.
This multigenerational enterprise started back in the 1930s as the Cecchini Ranch, named after the patriarch and matriarchs of the family – Bob & Barbara Cecchini. Today, it is run by their offspring.
Cultivating precious habitat areas while utilizing careful and mindful growing techniques, including composting, is of the utmost importance here.
Blessed with great seasonal weather and bolstered by the rich agricultural soil prevalent in the region, the plant life is abundant.
Just grab a bucket, meander through the verdant rows, and take a sniff or two along the way. It all puts a smile on your face!
The Urban Edge Farm is more than just flowers! They also grow a wide array of all-organic you-pick fruits. These include cherries, pomegranates, peaches, plums, apricots, figs, and persimmons, just to name a few.
If you prefer not to pick your own produce, you can visit their farm store where you can also purchase pies, honey, pickles, jams and jellies, oils, fresh bread, vinegars, eggs, and a wide array of other locally grown and made products.
