Liz Cheney to address critical questions of Republican Party at Reagan Library

by Atlanta Business Journal

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is set to address the fundamental concerns and questions shaping the future of the GOP at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

Cheney will be one of the speakers for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute’s “A Time for Choosing Speaker Series” and is set to offer her thoughts on the “critical questions facing the future of the Republican Party,” according to a statement from the institute.

“Through formal speeches delivered at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, speakers specifically address fundamental questions, such as ‘Why are you a Republican?,’ ‘What should the Republican Party stand for?,’ and ‘What are the Republican philosophies we can all agree on?'” the statement reads.

Cheney is slated to speak June 29.

The Republican congresswoman has been the target of criticism from members of her own party for her role on the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and her allegations against former President Donald Trump.

She is running against Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman in an Aug. 16 Republican primary and has a paltry 10% chance of winning reelection.

“On Cheney, if you go over to Wyoming, look at her disapproval rating,” said Harry Enten, a senior data reporter at CNN.
