Officials and beneficiaries during the farmers’ connect programme at Chendang village.

State Bank of India, Northeast circle organised Ek Raat Annadata Ke Saath, a farmers’ connect programme at Chendang village where 35 loan sanctions letters and 70 forms were handed over to farmers and beneficiaries in and around the village.
The AO of Jorhat, Jidendrakant Thakur in his keynote address expressed how the bank would like to help the village elevate their status as the “vegetable village” to a higher position. It was also expressed that SBI is the only bank that has approved 90 per cent of loans to farmers across the State.
RBO, Mokokchung, Joy Chakma also stated that organic farming is a special trait of the village and this should be upheld and made known to the rest of the state and country.
Dr Aojongshi and Wetosangla Chang represented veterinary and agriculture department and highlighted the farmers on matters related to the subjects.
On the occasion, the bank also donated a mobile generator to the village as expressed as the need of students in the village. The programme was chaired by Luhoi Besü, Chief Manager Tuensang.
